Cornwall Triathlon Series

2012 sees the launch of the exciting new Cornwall Triathlon Series. This new ten race series has been created by Carrick Leisure Community Leisure Service in partnership with Triathlon England.

The Series will bring together both well established triathlons and triathlons which are brand new for this year.

The Carrick Leisure Community Leisure Service will manage and administer the Series. All Series qualifying events will be registered with Triathlon England (TE) and will be organised according to TE rules and regulations. They will be covered by insurance acceptable to TE equal to or greater than £5,000,000.

Entry in to the Series is free. You will automatically start accumulating Series points after you have posted a result in your first event. Entry fees for each individual event vary due to local circumstances and operational costs. You will qualify for the Series presentations following completion of 6 events out of the possible 10.

Please Note: You can do either available distance at Marazion and it will count as one qualifying event.

Cornwall Triathlon Series Categories

Junior	17 - 20
Senior	21 - 39
Vet 40	40 - 49
Vet 50	50 - 59
Vet 60	60 +
Novice	Any Age

The age categories for the Series shall be determined as at 31 December in the current year.

Qualifying events may offer prizes for different age categories than the Series.

To help support and grow the sport of Triathlon there will also be a novice category for the best newcomer to Triathlon during the Series. A novice is a participant who’s first ever Triathlon is the first event they enter in the Cornwall Series. If as a novice you win an overall age category prize you will forfeit your novice status for the Series and will be slotted into the appropriate category listed above.

Organisers will look at the progress of the Series during the year and may need to alter it accordingly. If events are cancelled or altered due to unforeseen circumstances or adverse conditions the Series will reduce the number of qualifying events as appropriate. If there are not 3 athletes in a category that have completed 6 events we will look at athletes who have completed less events.
