Street care and cleaning

We are responsible for cleaning streets and highways and removing litter from highways, roads and Council owned land.

If you have any questions regarding street cleansing please contact Transport Waste and Environment using the details on the right.

Streets are cleansed based on a zonal system.

Zone    Type of area

Zone 1

High public use eg, town centres and city's

Zone 2

Residential areas

Zone 3

All Other areas

Zone 4

Special Circumstances

It is required that streets in Cornwall should never fall below a grade B of the Cleanliness National Indicators as prescribed by defra.
