Cornwall Council is holding a public meeting to listen to public
opinion on a planning application submitted to the Council’s
strategic planning committee for a
proposed development at Carlyon Bay
The public meeting will be held on Tuesday 31 May at the
Council’s offices in Penwinnick Road St Austell at 6.00pm. All are
welcome and on arrival will be able to register their wish to
speak.
Mike Varney, chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee, said:
“I’m aware that there are a lot of people who want to have their
say and we on the strategic planning committee want to listen to
them.”
The Council Chamber in St Austell has the capacity to
accommodate about 130 people.
Anyone who attends the meeting who wishes to express their views
on the planning application to the Strategic Planning committee
will be asked to register on arrival and will then be called upon
to speak.
The public meeting is an opportunity for councillors to hear
from local people on all sides; there will be no debate on the
merits of the planning application and no decision will be taken on
the day.
The planning application will be considered by the Strategic
Planning Committee at a future meeting. Depending on progress, the
application may be considered at the meeting scheduled to take
place on 30 June but this is not yet certain and could change to a
later date. This will be confirmed in due course.
