The Council provides a bulky waste collection service for
residents which covers items that are too large to be picked
up at the kerbside by refuse or recycling collections, or that
people cannot transport to the Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC)
themselves.

Please view our list of standard items collected by the
bulky waste service. This is a chargeable service which is
charged as follows:

concessions on these fees.

Leaving your bulky waste items out for collection
When you book your collection you will be advised of the day of
collection or informed that a member of our team will contact you
to confirm a collection day.
When placing out your bulky waste for pre-arranged collection,
residents are asked to identify a suitable and safe collection
point within the boundary of their property, but as near to
the normal waste collection point as is practically possible. The
Council can provide advice if you experience difficulty in placing
out bulky items for collection.
The terms and conditions for the bulky waste collections
can be found at bulky waste
terms and conditions.
Other options for bulky items
There are many ways to recycle or reuse bulky items including charity shops,
recycling companies, local adverts, freecycle, junk swaps and car
boot sales. If you are able to transport items yourself, most
towns have their own auction rooms, which are a good way of selling
and buying second hand items.
You can take items free-of-charge to the Household Waste and Recycling Centres
(HWRC’s) in Cornwall.
Alternatively, the following community
projects will accept donations and offer a collection service to
householders for useable goods. Donated furniture and household
items are offered at affordable prices to people on low
incomes.
