Introduction
The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership
(LEP) has been created as a result of the Coalition Government’s
White Paper on economic growth, ‘Realising Every Place’s
Potential’.
The Government has stipulated that LEPs will be ‘business led’
but has not defined how this should be achieved, leaving it up to
individual LEPs to determine how to put businesses in the driving
seat. Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP has agreed to consult with
businesses in order to determine the key strategic priorities over
the next five years to ensure that these reflect the views of the
private sector.
Economic Growth Strategy Consultaton
The LEP is currently producing a Strategy to 2020 and 3
year Business Plan to set out its strategic direction.
Consultation with the business community is a vital part of the
development of this strategy and we hope you will take part in
this.
The strategy will be finalised and launched by the end
of June 2012.
During the month of May all businesses and stakeholders will
have the opportunity to give their feedback on the draft strategy
which is available on the LEP
website.
The deadline for this consultation period is 31 May
2012.

Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP Proposal
Our submission for a Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local
Enterprise Partnership is available here - Cornwall and
Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership - Empowering
Enterprise. This document exemplifies the spirit within which
the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) invitation was made – a true
partnership between the public and private sector. It also
highlights the ingenuity, resilience and aspirations of our area,
and how we feel that we can not only take forward economic
development in our area, but also what we can offer to the wider UK
and world economy. We are ambitious, and we know that we can build
on our successes to make a difference to the people of Cornwall and
the Isles of Scilly.
