be on the electoral register here.
We produce two versions of the electoral
register every year - the full version and the edited version.
The next annual register will be published on 17 February
We also add or remove names from the register under the
registration" timetable. The updates are usually made at the
start of each month.
If we receive your application by the last date for applications
(usually around the 9th -11th of the month), we will usually update
the register at the start of the following month.
(Please note: The timetable does not allow us to add names to
the current register at the start of December 2013, January 2014 or
The full register lists everyone who is entitled
to vote. You can view it by calling at our offices listed
Only certain people and organisations can have
copies of the full register, and they can only use it for specified
purposes. These include electoral purposes, the prevention and
detection of crime and checking your identity when you have applied
The Representation of the People (England and
Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 list who can have a copy of the
full register and what they can use it for. It is a criminal
offence to pass the full register on to anyone else or use it for
any other purpose.
The edited register leaves out the names and
addresses of people who have asked for them to be excluded from
that version of the register. The edited version can be bought by
anyone who asks for a copy and they may use it for any purpose.
Your may opt out of the edited register by ticking the relevant
box on the electoral register application form. If you wish to opt
out permanently, please write to us at either of the addresses
shown on the right of this page.
Even if you are excluded from the
edited register, you will still be listed in the full register
which is used for elections and by the credit reference
