Mid Year Population Estimates are produced by the Office for
National Statistics for all local authorities in June
each year (14 months after the period being estimated).
These estimates are produced annually between Census dates in
order to gain a better understanding of the population.
The most recent population estimates available are the 2010 Mid
Year Estimates, Cornwall’s estimated population for 2010 is
535,300
(Office
for National Statistics Mid Year Estimates).
Please note that current figures are always at least a
year behind the current year. This time lag reflects the
availability of the data sources which measure the components of
population change over the year preceding the estimate, and the
time required to process the data and calculate the
estimates. For future years, please see population
projections page.
