Newquay is working hard to address the variety of issues that the town, its residents and businesses are dealing with.

Partners launching the Newquay Safe awareness campaign

The Newquay Safe partnership launched the new 'LOST your life... your friends... your dignity' awareness campaign in Newquay on Friday 7 August 2009.

The campaign, which will run for August 2009 summer, aims to promote safe, sensible and responsible behaviour in Newquay.

The campaign is being promoted, amongst other ways, through posters in clubs and pubs, public toilets, on and in local buses, at Newquay train station, in Newquay Airport and at the Boardmasters festival.

The awareness campaign is one of the many initiatives that the Newquay Safe partnership has already put into place, with others planned for the near and distant future. The campaign was developed in response to concerns by Newquay residents, businesses and the Newquay Safe partners. A longer term campaign will be produced later.

Gill Steward, Cornwall Council Corporate Director for Communities officially launched the campaign, supported by Lance Kennedy (Cabinet member for Stronger Communities), Dave Meredith (Sector Inspector, Devon and Cornwall Police), Dave Sleeman (Chairman Newquay Town Residents Association) and other partners.
