Following the heavy rain and subsequent flooding at Zennor early in the morning of Saturday 25 April 2009, inspections of the surrounding highways bridges have been carried out.

The inspections highlighted what appears to be extensive scour damage to the foundations of Chykembro Culvert at Poniou, Zennor. Due to the depth of water beneath the culvert, engineers were unable to determine the extent of damage caused by the flood water.

Arrangements to de-water the structure have been put in place so that the full extent of the undermining can be assessed and repairs undertaken. In order to safeguard road users an emergency closure of the B3306 will be in force while this work is carried out.
