Conservation Officers provide specialist advice to the Planning Service on heritage matters; all pre-application or ongoing application enquiries, including whether consent is required, should be directed through the normal planning enquiry routes, either Planning Case Officer,  Duty Planning Officer or householder enquiries procedures.

• Enquiries on whether a building is listed or in a Conservation Area should be referred to Planning Enquiries or to the Historic Environment Record or the Heritage Gateway
• Enforcement cases should go directly to the relevant officer in Planning Enforcement
• Enquiries on trees should go to relevant Tree Officers
