Camelford Community Network Panel meeting to discuss health hub plans and economic development

There’s a chance for local people to see the initial architects’ plans for Camelford’s proposed health hub and learn more about progress on the project at the Camelford Community Network Panel meeting on Tuesday 12 September in Camelford Hall.

The meeting will also include stalls with information and advice on a range of economic development matters, such as superfast broadband, LEADER funding and community-led local development where local people form a partnership that creates and implements a development strategy that builds on the community’s social, environmental and economic strengths.  In addition to this, Cornwall Councillor Rob Rotchell will brief the panel on a project to create a coast and countryside prospectus to attract business to the area.

There will be an opportunity to learn more about how Cornwall Councillor Community Chest grants have helped local groups too, including two community cinema projects run by St Breward Institute War Memorial Hall and the Maia Project.

Dominic Fairman, Chair of Camelford Community Network Panel, said: “This is a chance for everyone to see what the proposed health hub at Camelford could look like and also to find out about the support that’s available to help the whole area’s future development.  From Boscastle to St Breward and from small community grants to European funding for businesses.  Everyone is welcome to join us for what promises to be an informative evening with plenty of discussion and food for thought.”

Camelford Community Network Panel meets quarterly to discuss matters that affect the local area and to agree priorities that can be delivered by Cornwall Council and partners such as the police and health services.  Some of the areas that community networks focus on include anti-social behaviour, economic development, the environment, community planning, regeneration, conservation, community safety, transport and highway issues.

Camelford Community Network Panel includes the Cornwall Councillors for the area and representatives of the following parishes: Advent, Camelford, Davidstow, Forrabury and Minster, Lesnewth, Michaelstow, Otterham, St Breward, St Clether, St Juliot, St Teath, Tintagel, Tremaine, Treneglos, Tresmeer, Trevalga and Warbstow.

The meeting takes place on Tuesday 12 September from 7.00pm to 9.00pm in the Main Hall, Camelford Hall, Clease Road, Camelford.  The agenda and more information about the panel are available on our Camelford Community Network page.  The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
