Policing on the agenda at the St Austell and Mevagissey Community Network Panel meeting

Residents of the St Austell & Mevagissey Community Network area are being invited to learn about policing at the Community Network Panel and Annual General meeting on Monday 26 June. At the meeting Lyn Gooding from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, will be updating the panel and answering questions on the Police and Crime Plan and neighbourhood policing.

The Network Panel which meets quarterly consists of the Cornwall Councillors, Town Councillors and Parish Councillors for the area. They discuss what’s affecting the local area and agree priorities that can be delivered by Cornwall Council and its partners such as the police and health services. As this is the Annual General Meeting, the Community Network Panel will also be asked to elect a Chair and Vice-Chair for the year ahead.

Community Link Officer for the St Austell and Mevagissey Network Panel, Helen Nicholson said: “This meeting is a really good opportunity for people to come along and find out about policing, local matters and what’s happening in their community. Parish, Town and Cornwall Councillors are encouraged to attend, so this is a good opportunity for them to say what’s working well and what may need improving. This is also chance for people to meet their Cornwall, Parish and Town Councillors. Everyone is welcome to this public meeting, and those who come along will have the opportunity to ask questions.”
