Chairman of Cornwall Council pays tribute to Lady Mary Holborow, the former Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall

The Chairman of Cornwall Council, Councillor Mary May, today paid the following tribute to Lady Mary Holborow, the former Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall who has passed away.

“Cornwall has lost a true ambassador in Lady Mary.  Her love and enthusiasm for the Duchy was infectious and her dedication over her 17 years as Lord Lieutenant was tireless.

I had the privilege of meeting Lady Mary at many events during my time as Mayor of Penryn, and you couldn’t meet a nicer person.  She always put people at their ease and was genuinely interested in what they had to say.

She dedicated so much time of her own to countless charities and community organisations and inspired many others to get involved.  She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her and worked with her.”
