Normal opening hours

The contact centre is open 8.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday

Please note for Business Rate queries our opening hours are 9am to 5pm and Housing Services operate between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Only emergency calls should to be made outside of these hours.

If you have a general enquiry you may find the answer by using the Ask a Question section on the Council website homepage. There are also forms to report service requests in the Report It section on the homepage that you may also find useful.

The numbers below should also be used to contact the council for emergencies out of working hours where you will either be directed to an emergency operator or you will hear an information message for the service you have contacted.

Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls. These rules apply to calls from any type of line including mobile, BT, other fixed line or payphone.

Revenue sharing – where the dialled party can receive a share of what the consumer pays to make a call – is also not allowed on calls to 03 numbers.

Textphone/minicom

If you are a textphone (minicom) user, please contact us using Text Relay by dialing 18001 before the number below you require.

Text Relay assisted calls are charged at your telecommunication provider’s normal rates

If you have any problems connecting to the Council or it is your first time using Text Relay, dial 0870 240 95 98 from a textphone for help or visit http://www.textrelay.org/
