Money Force is an excellent resource and aimed at those in service covering all finance, credit, budgeting and debt issues. It is funded by the Royal British Legion and the Ministry Of Defence and a version of the Money advice service website.

Find out about applying to the new £10 million per annum Convenant Fund to support the armed forces community.

The Covenant Reference Group has agreed four main priorities for 2016-17, they are:

  1. Veterans’ Gateway
  2. Families in Stress
  3. Improving Local Covenant Delivery
  4. Community Integration / Delivery of local services

Please read the information in the Covenant Fund guidance on how to apply, as this will help you to decide if your project is eligible.

Bid size: up to £2 million.

Who can apply?

Applicants can apply either individually or on behalf of a consortium. The successful applicant will have to work closely with all current major helpline providers and ensure that the provision of a gateway to all their services is of value to them.

Application process: This will be an open grant process - not a procurement process - with initial Expressions of Interest and accompanying guidance notes. A full application stage will then lead to the selection of the successful provider.

Provisional timescales:

5 April 2016 – applicant workshop
4 May 2016 – guidance and application form available
1 July 2016 – stage one application deadline
1 September 2016 – stage one decisions
7 December 2016 – stage two application deadline
30 March 2017 – final decisions communicated

Bid size: £20,001 - £300,000

Who can apply?

Applications should be from local charities or community interest companies that provide specialist services, working in close partnership with military bases.

Application process:

A two stage application process, with an expression of interest stage followed by a full application stage.

Timescales:

4 May 2016 – open for applications
22 June 2016 – stage one application deadline
1 September 2016– stage one decisions
30 November 2016 – stage two application deadline
1 March 2017 – final decisions communicated

Bid size: £20,000 - £500,000

Who can apply?

Local Authorities (working in clusters)

Application process:

This will be a detailed single stage application with a decision at the end.

Timescales:

10 July 2016 – open for applications
6 October 2016 – application deadline
1 March 2017 – decisions communicated

Bid size Up to £20,000

Who can apply?

Charities (including community interest companies); schools; local authorities and Armed Forces units with a UIN.

Application process:

A single stage application with a decision at the end.

Timescales:

Round 1

4 May 2016 – open for applications
22 June 2016 – application deadline
28 September 2016 – decisions communicated

Round 2

23 September 2016 – open for applications
2 November 2016 – application deadline
1 March 2017 – decisions communicated
