Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service Case Studies

As part of our continuing improvement we are keen to communicate the areas of best practice within the service and to highlight the successful work being undertaken in the communities of Cornwall. We have developed a process for creating and communicating case studies, which are intended to demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of projects and workstreams across all of our service areas.

More

We want to celebrate our good work by publishing this information so that staff and public alike can look at the activities we are undertaking. For our members of staff that are considering a similar activity or project, they can learn from previous experience. We can also share learning outcomes from an operational incident or training, whether positive or negative.

For our public, we can draw them to our activities so that they are more aware of the work we do across the service and how the work we do is aligned to our service plan priorities.

We also publicise our successes on the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA) website so that we can share our experiences with other fire and rescue service authorities in the country.

For further information please contact the Business and Intelligence Unit on 01872 322053.

The case studies have been split into the following categories below, that will take you to the releveant section on this page:

We will be adding more case studies to this page over the coming months.

In simple terms, it is better to try to stop something from happening than it is to try to fix it after the event.  We do this through proactive early intervention, advice, awareness raising and education. This area includes an assortment of community safety projects and activities such as, Phoenix, Road Safety, and  Fire Safety.

Protection can mean different things to different people.  We provide services to help protect people, property and places by undertaking a range of statutory and enforcement duties. These include our enforcement role under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO) and the Petroleum Act, consultative work under both Licensing and Building Regulation legislation, and partnership work with Housing, Public Health & Protection and Planning.
