Cornwall Site Allocations Development Plan Document

Cornwall Council recently undertook a public consultation on the emerging Cornwall Site Allocations Development Plan Document (Allocations DPD). The consultation ran from Monday 3 October to 5pm on Monday 14 November 2016.

The document identifies locations for future housing and commercial growth, as well as setting out a strategy for future infrastructure provision. Although the consultation is now closed, all the documents are still available to view.

We will now review all of the comments made during the consultation and make amendments to the plan where required and prepare a Submission Stage Allocations Document which will be published for a further 6 week public consultation early next year. An independent Planning Inspector will then review comments on that document and let Cornwall Council know if the plan is able to be adopted, or what changes may still be required before it can be adopted by Cornwall Council later in 2017.

The Allocations Development Plan document is a large document so if you experience difficulty downloading it, or you are only interested in a particular town, the various chapters are available in the Area Pages section on this page

If you are only interested in particular towns, the document has been split into town chapters.  Each town has its own web page where the relevant chapter of the Allocations DPD can be accessed, together with the background evidence documents.

In addition to the towns there are also Strategically Important Employment Sites.  These are located outside the larger towns in more rural areas.

Background Evidence

Various evidence documents have been prepared during the development of the Allocations DPD. These can be viewed via two locations: the Cornwall-wide evidence documents page and the Area Page sections.
