Common Law Marriage

What does Common law marriage mean?  Nothing.  It is a myth.  Most people think that after you have been living with your partner for 2 years or more you get the same legal rights as married couples. This isn't true. In fact, you have very few rights.

There are currently over four million people living with their partner in England and Wales, and many think they have rights that they don't have. Sadly people usually only find out what rights they really have when it's too late to do much about it.  To get more advice please go to http://www.advicenow.org.uk/living-together/
