In the UK, when a baby or child dies, or a child is bereaved, many of those affected are unable to access good quality support which meets their individual needs. Child Bereavement UK believes all families should have the support they need to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. Our aim is to make sure they do.

Hope Again is Cruse Bereavement Cares website for young people. Cruse is a national charity that provides support, advice and information to children, young people and adults when someone close to them dies. We also work to enhance society’s care of bereaved people.

Cruse Bereavement Care exists to promote the well-being of bereaved people and to enable anyone bereaved by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss. The organisation provides counselling and support. It offers information, advice, education and training services.

The purpose of Lastingpost is to help people address the very difficult subject of death. In particular the ‘Planning ahead’ section of the website helps people to set down privately the instructions and wishes they want in place for use after their death. The benefit of Planning Ahead is that these wishes can be stored privately and securely online. The ‘When death occurs’ section then helps the deceased’s family with practical advice including arranging the funeral, sorting out probate and financial matters. The website also provides a place to notify friends and family of the death. These notices can be accompanied by a personal obituary and a memorial book. There is also an extensive section on bereavement. Lasting Post is completely free.
