Planning is about making the best use of land for housing,
business, industrial, agricultural, and recreation. It is about
making places where people want to live, work and play, places
which are safe and inviting, and places which are
sustainable.
We all have a role to play in planning. Residents can take part
in public
consultations on local plans. Homeowners can find the best
way to make use of or extend their current properties with
planning advice and guidance, as well as find
information on building regulation requirements. You can
view and search the online planning register to find out what
applications are proposed in your area, as well as historical
applications. There is also information on natural resources
applications, minerals and waste, and monitoring.
Customer care standards relating to planning can be found in our
Planning and
Regeneration Service Customer Care Standards
document.
