website and in newsletters available in the Councils’ One Stop
Shops and libraries.

The way housing benefit is calculated is changing and you could
be affected. Please read about the changes to
housing benefits.
The Cornwall Homechoice Allocation Scheme is currently being
reviewed as a response to changes in legislation in the Localism
Act 2011 and the changes to Housing Benefit entitlement contained
within the Welfare Reform Act 2012. For further
information see the Review and Consultation.
When you register with Cornwall Homechoice,
we will assess your housing need and give you details of your
priority banding, your eligible date, and the type and size of
property you can apply for.
Generally homechoice applicants in the most
urgent need for housing have the best chance of bidding
successfully for social housing to rent. For more information about
your likely banding on the Homechoice register, please visit our
Housing Choices
calculator so you can decide whether to apply.

calculator works and information on making a complete application

If you have already registered you can view
properties currently available on the housing register and bid for
properties you think are suitable for you.
