Community Network Manager – Bude and Camelford
Chris Sims
I have worked for the local authority in
Cornwall for 5 years. Before commencing as Community Network
Manager I worked for Children’s Services on the implementation of
the Common Assessment Framework. Prior to this I worked for
the Drug and Alcohol Action Team, leading on the young
person’s substance misuse strategy.
Before working within the local authority
I worked in the voluntary sector, firstly with an organisation
offering support to young people and adults with Autism and
Aspergers and more recently with Stonham Housing Association who
offer support and housing to vulnerable people.

Community Officer – Bude and Camelford
Sharon Grigg
I have worked for the Local Authority for 6
years. Before working in the Localism Service I worked as a
Community Officer for North Cornwall District Council, as part of
the Economic Development Service. I worked with Community and
Voluntary groups to administrate and deliver the Community Chest
Fund. In partnership with other Council departments I also
devised and delivered projects to primary and secondary schools to
educate young people. Some of these projects included the
Handwashing Roadshows, SCRAP Attack Competition and Democracy
Workshops.
I am able to assist community groups by
carrying out GrantFinder searches for their proposed projects and
by “signposting” to other relevant organisations for support and
training such as ECCVS (East Cornwall Council for Voluntary
Services) and CRCC (Cornwall Rural Community Council). I work
in partnership with the Network Manager in the Bude and Camelford
Networks to support and liaise with Community groups and
Parish/Town Councils in the area.
