CHEFS Re-launch March 2011 The Cornwall Healthier Eating and Food Safety (CHEFS) Award was launched at the Eden Project in October 2005. It is awarded by the food safety and trading standards officers at Cornwall Council working in partnership with the Health Promotion Service and change for life.

The award has four levels, namely the prestigious platinum (achieved after receiving the gold award on three separate assessments), gold, silver and entry level.

Over 100 food businesses in Cornwall have achieved the CHEFS award, each having to demonstrate a least a broadley compliant standard of food hygiene, offer healthy options on their menus and source some Cornish ingredients in order to qualify for it.
