conversions and other alterations. The book contains
information about the things you need to take into consideration
when designing your extension, including radon and mining.

The construction industry is the country’s biggest industry. It
is also one of the most dangerous. In the last 25 years, over 2,800
people have died from injuries they received as a result of
construction work. Many more have been injured or made ill.
If you are having construction or refurbishment work done, you
may need to notify the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and you
may have other duties as well. More information is available on
